Langley Fashion Show a Success!

Update from Emmie Stanley

Our fashion show was a huge success with generous contributions from around 90 people who gave their time to set up, clean up, model, do make-up and hair, or who donated clothes  and  food.

Our guests enjoyed the evening and were grateful for the donated used clothing. But the most mentioned highlight was the sharing from our guest speaker about how God has completely refashioned her life from the inside out, resulting in four of our guests also making a decision to give their lives over to Jesus.

Our speaker started her life with horrific sexual abuse, escaping to the streets at 11 years old. She would live on the streets for much of the next 40 years. But God reached out to her and the power of Jesus freed her from addictions, through a local Christian recovery centre. Now she has a little apartment of her own, and is eagerly sharing with others the transformation that Jesus can make in their lives too.

Her story demonstrated that no one is beyond God’s reach. People often work their whole lives fashioning their outward image, but God cares more about healing and cleansing our hearts. If we open our lives to let him make us over on the inside, the results can be amazing.

Below, our fashion show speaker sharing how God gave her hope and new life after decades on the streets.
