Coffee Shop Evangelism on the Lower Mainland

Okay, I am having my first “office day” at the coffee house. On the street I ran into “Marnie” who I met last week when she came for coffee at the Power to Change coffee shop (her favourite new place), that first day we visited together and  I got to share my testimony with her.  Now this is the third time I have run into her in two weeks. She has been in a car accident and is still in a lot of pain.  I asked her if I could pray for her and she said yes.  So we prayed right there on the sidewalk.

As I entered the coffee house, the song was going through my mind “this is for all the lonely people, thinking that love has passed them by…” mmm… sounds about right.

As I got my tea, I was served by the owner I introduced ourselves to last week when I asked her if we could do a regular morning Christian book gathering in her coffee house.  She was very welcoming. Today she recognized me and said “you are the bible study lady.”  So, we are off to a good start.

I got my tea and went and sat near a lady who was there by herself. I prayed for an opening to talk with her, and before I even finished the prayer, we were in a conversation.  We talked about many things, and as the conversation proceeded I found out that she is a Christian and a pastors wife.  They have a small church plant in Newton.  She said that she has been looking for opportunities to get involved in the community, and has a big heart for Langley. Is anyone thinking “divine appointment?” So we exchanged information.

I can hardly wait to see what adventure awaits me next week at the coffee house.
