Your View of Life by Cath Thorlakson

Read Genesis 45

“So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt.”

                                                                Genesis 45:8

There is nothing that enters your life that God did not plan. Do you believe that?

When I read Joseph’s story, I am so struck by God’s power. Has there ever been a more dramatic rise to power? Can you imagine when Joseph – straight from the dungeon – had royal robes put on him, officials going before him telling people to bow the knee, and a wife given to him … after 13 years of hard things? It is pretty hard to hear that story and deny the power of God.

When we read Joseph’s gracious response to his cruel brothers, it seems clear that he had a good grasp on God’s sovereign role in his life. I believe that it was because he was completely convinced that he could forgive.

How about you? How are things in your ministry? How kind is your boss, your colleagues, or those under your authority? Have you been pushed out of a ministry or somehow hurt deeply?

I believe that a first step in healing is being convinced that God sovereignly used that person for a loving and good purpose. Then you can let them go and forgive. Then you are free! God will deal with them – with wisdom.

How are you today? Can you forgive? Can you be free? God loves you and stands behind you. Cooperate with Him as He does His perfect will.
